In the wake of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, 26 Acts of Kindness was born. Inspired by an idea proffered publicly by NBC’s Ann Curry, the idea is simple: do "26 acts of kindness" — one for each of the 20 children and six adults killed that December day.

The 4th Annual 26 Acts of Kindness Campaign is currenlty running at Notre Dame High School in neighboring Fairfield, CT. Beginning in December each school day in focused on a different collective effort to be kind in a specific way—simple things anyone can do to warm a heart or put a smile on someone’s face. Notre Dame and it's school-wide effot was recently featured on NBC Nightly News.
